Molly Maguires Irish Restaurant & Pub

Molly Maguires Irish Restaurant & Pub … aka “The Local” … is an authentic Irish pub centrally located at the corners of Bridge and Main Streets in the heart of downtown Phoenixville, PA. With three floors, outdoor seating, and live entertainment, it is a very popular place to hang out, especially on First Fridays, the weekends, and during the summer months. And, as you can imagine, it is THE place to be on St. Patrick’s Day!

Here is a review that one of their patron’s left on Facebook after this year’s St. Patty’s Day party:

“I came here with some friends for St Paddy’s Day…and it was AWESOME! There was so much going on! We hung out on the rooftop deck drinking Guinness, listened to great music on the 1st floor, did carbombs at The Fenix…and then we went to the Tented beer garden! WOW! There was music, and a huge crowd…it was amazing! Molly Maguire’s really upped the ante when it comes to doing events in Phoenixville! I’ve been to a bunch of stuff in town, and nothing came close to this! All the new stuff in Phoenixville is great, but these older bars are still the gold standard. Next time you are in town give an old favorite a try! You can only drink so many overpriced IPA’s in a day…go relax at the only real pub in town!” ~ Alyson Graham

The Fenix Bar

The Fenix Bar at Molly’s is a unique little bar/lounge that is becoming known for their delicious martinis as well as their exceptional small plates and late-night menus. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, as well as for private events, the atmosphere is upscale, modern and sophisticated. Be sure to stop in on a Thursday night for 70’s and 80’s dance music or on a Friday or Saturday night for live acoustical music.

Our Review

My fiancé Chuck and I had lunch at Molly Maguire’s in mid-March after looking at a rental property … it was our first experience in Phoenixville and it looked like a pretty neat pub, so we thought we would give it a try. We had the Pretzel Braids for an appetizer (so yummy), although they were so big they could have been a meal! The atmosphere was great … definitely a very Irish feel … and the service was terrific. Chuck had the Southwestern Blackened Chicken Salad and he said it was delicious. I had the Hot Roast Beef Au Jus sandwich and although it was good, the roast beef was sliced too thickly for my taste. For that reason, I gave the food a 4-star rating; however, I will definitely be back and will try something different next time.

Update October 2017: We moved to Phoenixville in June 2017 and went back to Molly’s in October with our family for Sunday family brunch. Everything was good, but the highlight of the meal by far was the Colcannon Balls, a panko-breaded and fried mashed potatoes with cabbage and cheddar cheese served with a chipotle-ranch dipping sauce. They were absolutely delicious! I have updated the food to a 4.5 rating and look forward to trying more items from the menu in the future.

Update July 2018: The longer we live here, the more we love Molly’s and appreciate having this establishment in our town. We had a delicious Valentine’s dinner in The Fenix room (so we have increased our food rating to 4.75 as a result), we often stop in for brunch, and our daughter Sarah even got a job there (you can’t miss her – she’s the tall, gorgeous blond bartender).

Be sure to stop into Molly’s for brunch, lunch, dinner, or a drink and be sure to leave your star rating below.
